These are a pair of woven shawls inspired by the Penny Bun mushroom, or Boletus Edulis in biological terms.  For a moment, the focus shifted from fine art to garments, a more familiar craft.  These shawls feature a textured, high-contrast warp including a wide variety of materials and a hand-painted accents, using a warm neutral palette throughout and a light weft color to create a slightly 'hazy' effect.  The cloth was woven more delicately to add movement to the fabric, allowing for more drape to accent the wearer.  Boletus features alpaca and silk, and Edulis features thick novelty yarns for accented detail.
